Spirit of Volunteerism Award Winners Announced

The 16th annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards will be held Tuesday, October 30th at DeSales University, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.  This event, which is coordinated and hosted by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, is held annually to honor the corporate employees, teams and organizations that are nominated by local nonprofits or businesses.  These award winners embody the spirit of volunteering in their community and serve as role models for others.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of many nonprofit organizations here in the Lehigh Valley and the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards is one way of recognizing and thanking all the great efforts of those individuals, teams and organizations.  The 2018 award winners include:

Patricia Snell, Aramark

Dekka Studios

Donna Lahouchuc, Dun & Bradstreet

The judges this year reviewed over 20 nominations and narrowed down the winners.  This is never an easy task. The volunteer efforts by all the nominees highlighted longstanding personal commitment and devotion to serving with multiple organizations.

Barry Dobil, Sr. is the Honorary Chair for the event.  Barry and his family owned organization have been actively engaged in the Lehigh Valley community through many projects, programs and organizations they support. Ashley Russo, ASR Media Productions will be the 2018 emcee.  Ashley and her team have been long standing partners with the Volunteer Center including past honorary chair & winner of an award.

Events like the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards could not be done without the generous support of community sponsors:  Air Products, ASR Media Productions, Barry Isett & Associates, Crayola, Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, P.C., Highmark Blue Shield, Josh Early Candies, Just Born Quality Confections, Keystone Precision Instruments, Klunk & Millan Advertising, Liberty Property Trust, St. Luke’s University Health Network, The Morning Call and Working Dog Press.

Join the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley on October 30th to celebrate the winners for the 2018 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards.  All nominees will be recognized with the President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizing their contributions to our community based on their service hours and commitment.
