Williams Township residents will hold a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 6 pm to honor fallen heroes, living veterans, and active duty service persons.
The sunset ceremony will be held at the Williams Twp. Municipal campus, 655 Cider Press Rd. in Williams Township.
Reflections on the contribution of the late founder Glen A. Zimpfer will be offered by Sharon and Phil Klinger, Helen and Tom Seifert, Tim Koplin, and Jessica Zimpfer. A memorial wreath in Zimpfer’s honor will be laid by Daniel Zimpfer. Reading the names of the Fallen heroes will be Dara Lavoie, assistant pastor of St. John’s Church of Morgan Hill, her son Trevor, and his wife Tailor Cook.
Chuck Yeomans, Committee member, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The Community Recognition Award will be given to an area service dog group, Tails of Valor, Paws of Honor. Richard Seiffert, volunteer trainer, will accept the award on behalf of the group.
Also participating are the Wilson Area High School Band, members of the Township’s scout troops, Pastor Blake Heffner of St. John’s Church of Morgan Hill, the honor guard of Marine Corps League/Northampton County Detachment, students from Williams Township Elementary School, members of the Veterans Memorial Committee, and many individual citizens.
The community at large is invited to join this program of recognition and gratitude. Parking is available at the Township Municipal Building. Attendees are urged to bring their own chairs.
